Blog

Hi, Sarah here.

I want to use the blog to let you know about what's going on at Inky Doodles, in my head and in the wider world of stamping and papercraft so that you too can be inspired and create something amazing!

With the help of the wonderful Caroline Shinnie I hope to be able to show a card or project with instructions most days.

Inks Used: Memento - Tuxedo Black  Rich Cocoa   Lilac Posies, Distress ink - Gathered Twigs

Other items used: Promarkers, Buttons, Ribbon, Lace, Pins, Glue Gel, Backing paper & 7x7 card blank

Cut a piece of spotty backing paper, slightly smaller than your card blank, tear across the bottom about 1 inch from the edge to give a scruffy look. Randomly stamp the sentiments in Black Memento onto this backing paper. Stamp, colour in and cut out two of the images from the Afternoon Tea set, (I've used the doughnuts and rock buns) and add to the backing paper. Glue a piece of lace along the front and stick to your card blank.

For the topper, stamp the country check in lilac posies twice, this will make a square shape. Cut this out and ink the edges with gathered twigs. Fill in the gaps with the cupcake, the heart and the strawberry stamps using Black Memento and colour them in with promarkers. Stick this to the card blank.

For the cake topper, stamp, colour and cut out the cake stand, two cakes & a pile of doughnuts. Curve these slightly and pile them up using 3d glue gel. For the sentiment, stamp onto scrap card and edge with a promarker, finish with black faux stitching. Add the pins to the top of the cake, and add ribbon and buttons. Finally, ink around the edge of the card blank using Cut n dry foam.
